"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. The beauty of a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the care that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman, with passing years - only grows"

Put Order Into Your Image!

Here are the steps to putting your clothing in order:Take all of your clothes out of your closet
Only do this if your closet is very disorganized. If it's more or less okay, you can skip to the next step, leaving your clothes hanging in your closet.

Hang your clothing according to typePut all of your shirts together (I also arrange mine by color ), all of your pants together (I organize mine by type of pant: wide-legs together, cigarette pants together, etc.), all of your skirts together... Leave wool sweaters, t-shirts, and jeans folded. Except for these items, it is best to hang all of your clothing.

Once everything is in order, start weeding things outYes, once everything is in order, start reviewing your clothing article by article, and make three piles: one with the clothes you're going to throw out because they're not decent enough to give away, a second pile with clothes you don't like, don't fit you, or don't work with your current style that you will give away or donate, and finally, a pile of clothes that you have to mend, iron, or take to be re-dyed. Without thinking too much about it, put things into these three piles and start making a dent in your closet.

How to know when to toss a piece of clothingUsually, if I haven't used something for two seasons - for example, the last two summers - , I put it in a suitcase in my attic. Once a year, I look at what I have inside, and from there I either put things back in my closet or get rid of things I don't think I will use again. If you don't have the space to store the clothing, it's much better to donate it right away rather than let it hang in your closet taking up space.

Create new outfitsOnce everything is organized, continue with your shoes, underwear drawer, etc. When you finish, start creating outfits from pieces that might look good together. Take photos or write them down so you have some flattering outfits prepared for days when you are in a hurry.

Organize your vanity
The next step is to go to your bathroom or vanity and do exactly the same thing. Here I recommend that you have one makeup bag for the look you wear on weekdays, and another, bigger one where you can keep the products you use only on weekends, for special occasions, or for certain season.

I have everything organized like this, and it works for me:

Daily care productsIt doesn't make a lot of sense to have a lot of products out if they aren't things you use daily. So the first thing you have to do is take out all of your products and leave out only the ones you use every day, which are:

Makeup remover
Toner
Eye cream
Serum
Day cream
Night cream
Honestly, everything else just gets in your way.

Basket of basics
I have a small wicker basket where I put all of the items listed above: it's the best way to keep the bottles organized so I don't have to look in my closet. Also, it makes it much easier to follow my daily beauty routine, because everything is right at hand. For example, I've put my nighttime hair treatment in this basket (I used to always forget to use it).

Basket of specific treatments
Since I don't have drawers, in the bathroom cabinets I have wicker baskets a little larger than the one I mentioned above that I use to categorize products according to type. All of my products that are specific treatments - such as masks, exfoliators, etc, go in one basket. In another I put hair products, and I use a third for bobby pins, hair bands... I promise you this is the best way to have all of your "stock" in rigorous order.

Daytime makeup kitI have a daytime makeup kit that is actually a small MAC case that I love. It has two levels: in the top one, I have all of my shadows and the brushes I use most frequently (those for foundation, concealer, brows, and one for blending); in the bottom part I have all of my powders, bronzers, foundations, etc. I like this case so much that I'm thinking of buying another one so I can put all of my illuminators and nighttime shadows in it.

Storage bagIn another, much larger kit, I keep my seasonal shadows, darker powders, lipsticks I'm not currently using, and some back-up products. It is actually a professional makeup artist's case, but if you don't have one, you can simply use a bigger makeup bag. The idea is not to throw everything together. That way, you don't spend 10 minutes every morning looking for the lipstick that you wear every day, which you can't find because it's hidden between ten other lipsticks.

BrushesI think brushes are vital for applying makeup; that's why I have so many of them, and that's why I have a tall glass in my room where I keep them all. That way they don't get in the way, and they are also decorative. Every Sunday I clean all of brushes so I don't have to think about cleaning them during the week.

Get organized
Add your own organizational tips to mine to get things in order. Set aside one day this week and start organizing everything. This time, make two piles: one with products that are expired, broken, or that you don't like, and another with the products you aren't using now but will use in the future.

Clean out your bag, or, even better - indulge yourself and buy a new one - they're on sale! Clean each one of your products: the best way to do this is to use makeup remover wipes: everything will look like new. Finally, throw away everything you don't need anymore (guiltlessly).

You'll see that once you put your clothes and products in order, come Monday morning you'll not only know how to do your makeup, but you'll be in the mood to do your makeup, and you'll find everything easily...

If You Get A Pimple...

Follow these steps:
Moisturize your skin and avoid products that dry out the skin.

You can apply some type of treatment. For me, because I have sensitive skin, Sebium from Bioderm works well (only in pharmacies). It helps to eliminate a breakout, but without drying out the sin.

Then, put your makeup on like you normally do.

Before putting on powder use a corrector specially made for that area. If you get pimples every now and again, it is better to invest in one that not only minimizes them, but dries them. I like the one from Bobbi Brown.

Go back and touchup the area, thinly covering the area with foundation with your fingertips.

And to finish, apply a few touches of totally matte and transparent powder with a brush.

Try to intensify your mouth or your eyes (whichever is further away from the pimple) in order to center the attention there and divert attention from the pimple.

Best Tips for Making Up Your Eyes

How to prepare the eye area

Just as when we make up the skin of the face, it's very important to prepare the skin around the eyes so that the shadows will last longer and it will be easier to apply your makeup. Follow these suggestions:

Remove makeup
Before applying makeup, make sure that your eyes and the surrounding area is totally clean. (Sometimes traces of mascara from the night before remain.) If you don't remove your makeup well, the makeup won't look clean, and if you want that professional looking finish, this is the first thing you have to take into account.

Special treatment Another tip is to be careful with the area! This is the most fragile area of the face; that's why you should be very gentle, especially when removing makeup. If you have to rub hard to eliminate mascara or shadow, this means that your eye makeup remover isn't right for you.

Eye contour cream
Before applying any other creams, use an eye cream to keep the eye area hydrated, elastic, and protected. When you apply it, apply to the area around your eyes (you don't have to apply it to your lids) and using gentle touches from the inner corners of your eye to the outside.

How to correct under eye circles and bagsThis is another thing that we don't always pay attention to, and if circles or bags are not corrected, it won't look good.

Concealing circles
To conceal circles, use a cream concealer. If you have very dark circles, this is the best choice, since liquids are very light.
Make sure that the concealer provides enough moisture so that is doesn't dry out the area.
Then apply concealer with a synthetic bristle brush to the under eye area, inner corners of the eye, and the roots of the lashes (normally this area is very bluish).
Apply a small amount of product and blend it softly downward.
Then use your fingertip to tap (not pull) the area where concealer was applied to blend it and eliminate excess product.
Use a concealer a shade lighter than that of your face. Don't use one that's too light: it will be noticeable.
When you've finished making up your eyes, you can use a concealer-illuminator in the corner of the eye to brighten the area.
Concealing bags

If, on the other hand, you have bags, follow these suggestions:

Before doing your makeup, apply an eye cream that reduces and calms the area so that it will look less puffy.
Use a shade of concealer similar to your skin to correct circles. If you use a light color, it will draw attention to your bags.
Once you've finished with your makeup, you should add a final touch of translucent powder with a small puff to mattify the whole area where your bags are and reduce their appearance.
Remember: to hide bags, it's important to avoid applying shimmery powders or illuminating concealers to this area, because they will make them more noticeable.

Your best colors
When I'm doing some one's makeup and I want to bring out the person's eye color, I follow these rules:

The most flattering colors for...

Blue eyes
If you have blue eyes, use these colors to make them pop:

Pink.
Brown.
Gold and bronze.
Black.
Very dark blue (if it's matte, even better.
Orange or salmon.

Green eyes
If you have green eyes, use these colors to make them pop:

Purples and violets.
Brown.
Dark green (especially if your eyes are light green).

Brown eyes
If you have brown eyes, you're in luck, because all colors are flattering on you. However, you can use these colors in particular to make them pop:

Grays and silvers.
Brown.
Black.
Purples and violets (opt for these shades especially if your eyes have a light bit of green in them).

Light eyes
This is one of the basic rules of makeup: if you have light eyes, use dark colors to make them pop.

Dark eyes
Just as above, but the reverse. If you have dark eyes, use light and pearlescent colors to make them pop.

Colors you should avoid if...

Below are some colours that you should avoid to play down certain aspects of your face.

If you have heavy circles

If you have dark circles and you cannot completely hide them with your concealer, avoid these colors at all costs:

Greens.
Blues.
Purples.
Grays.
Instead of the colors above, choose warm colors such as bronzes, golds...

If you have bags
If you have bags, it is more important to avoid certain types of textures, rather than certain colors, such as pearlescent shadows and shimmery or shiny creams, especially on the lower lid. You should also always make a well-defined line with pencil or shadow between your lower lashes.
